Precept Ministries operates in over 160 countries with some of the materials translated into 70 languages including Afrikaans, Arabic, Chinese, Hebrew, Hindi, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

Precept Ministries was founded in 1970 by missionaries Jack and Kay Arthur, who were forced to leave the mission field in Mexico due to illness. The ministry started by Kay teaching teenagers God’s Word. Soon adults began asking for the same practical teaching and helpful guidance that the teens were receiving.

In 2012 their son David was appointed CEO of Precept Ministries International based in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

God raises up local nationals in each country who reach their own people within their cultural context, operating under local government charitable regulations, and who all use Precept’s Inductive Bible study methods and resources.

As Precept has expanded across the world the following regions have been established for its work: Africa, Canada, Caribbean, Eurasia, Europe, India, Pacific Rim and the USA. In 2011 Nigel Watts was appointed Regional Director for Europe, which also includes Israel.
